Property Services Regulatory Authority (www.psr.ie) – The Property Services Regulatory Authority was established to act as a licensing body for property service providers (PSPs – including auctioneers, estate, letting and managing agents.). It establishes minimum qualification standards for PSPs and a means to investigate complaints or audit the activities of all companies in the property industry.
Private Residential Tenancy Board (www.prtb.ie) – The PRTB was established to resolve disputes between landlords and tenants as fair and neutral party. It also operates a national tenancy registration system and provides policy advice on the private rented sector.
Apartment Owner’s Network (www.apartmentowners.ie) The AON is a group of property owners in managed estates that meet on a monthly basis to support, educate and campaign on behalf of property owners. They are an active group that invites new members. There is no charge to join and all meetings are held in the Dublin City Council HQ, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.
Society of Chartered Surveyors (www.scsi.ie) – The SCSI is the professional body for Chartered Surveyors in Ireland. The website also offers a considerable amount of information on property valuation.
Irish Property Owners Association (www.ipoa.ie) – The IPOA seeks to protect and promote the interests of private residential landlords.
National Consumer Agency (www.consumerproperty.ie) – The NCA is a state body that aims to defend customer interests. They provide expert advice on consumer rights and personal finance, including extensive information on buying a home and living in a managed multi-unit development.
Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (www.odce.ie) – The role of the ODCE is to improve the compliance environment for corporate activity in the Irish economy. They have prepared a publicly available handbook on Company Law as it relates to Residential property Owner’s Management Companies (LINK).
Health & Safety Authority (www.hsa.ie) – The HSA is the national statutory body responsible for occupational health and safety law and promotes accident prevention.
